Missouri went through the Heart of America conference unbeaten in the fall. Kansas State were beaten 21–3 in Columbia — tries from Ty Nash, Adam Cooley and Blake Ollar, with Gareth Jones converting all three — avenging a last-second defeat the year before to a side that had already put over 100 points on Nebraska.
The season closed in Ames, where Jones landed a 35-meter penalty with five minutes left to beat Iowa State 23–22, and the Tigers kept the ball in the Cyclones' half for the rest of the match.
